Data Practices
Effective date: September 6, 2026
KeenGig LLC operates the KeenGig software and keengig.com. KeenGig LLC believes useful market data and strong privacy protections can coexist. Optional contributions can help gig workers compare market conditions, while private account tools remain useful without participation.
Private Account Information
Account details, settings, preferences, saved offer history, income, expenses, vehicle information, and other account-owned records are private. KeenGig LLC does not sell or publicly disclose identifiable private account information. Opting into analytics does not copy this private history into the analytics database.
Offer Capture Diagnostics
The iOS Shortcut and Android companion app send extracted offer text to KeenGig for parsing. A successful capture does not create a raw-content archive: KeenGig LLC discards the raw OCR text immediately after processing and saves only relevant normalized offer data, calculation results, and necessary technical or security records.
If a capture cannot be verified or may reflect a changed platform format, KeenGig LLC may keep its raw OCR text and an optional submitted screenshot in restricted diagnostic storage for no more than 30 days. This content is used only to diagnose failures, maintain parser compatibility, improve the capture feature, and protect the Service. A scheduled purge clears expired OCR and screenshot content. Non-content diagnostic metadata may be retained longer for reliability, security, abuse prevention, and audit purposes.
Optional Analytics Participation
Analytics contribution is off by default. A user may opt in during signup or in Driver Preferences and may turn participation off there at any time. The calculators and private history continue to work when participation is off. Turning participation off stops future analytics contributions; it does not necessarily remove contributions already combined into aggregate statistics or completed research.
Only fields disclosed for an eligible calculator submission are contributed. For Live Offer entries, those fields may include country, region, market, gig company, period of day, currency, distance unit, offer value, estimated distance and time, and estimated actual distance and time.
Daily Pseudonymous Tokens
An opted-in Live Offer contribution includes a protected pseudonymous token that changes each UTC day. The token allows KeenGig to recognize that one contributor supplied several entries during the same day. It supports daily contributor counts, limits on how much one contributor can influence a result, and abuse or anomaly review.
The analytics record does not include the contributor's name, email address, display name, username, account ID, IP address, session ID, or notes. A daily token is pseudonymous, not anonymous. KeenGig LLC will not use it to build a permanent activity profile or claim unique contributors across different days.
Aggregate Reporting
Raw analytics contributions are not public. Public reports must use aggregate results and pass minimum-contributor, suppression, and quality rules. Small or highly specific groups will not be published. Aggregate statistics and completed public reports may be retained because they provide continuing value to gig workers.
Public analytics will remain disabled until aggregation, limited raw-retention, daily-key retirement, access-control, and operational verification procedures are deployed.
Data Minimization and Security
KeenGig LLC collects only information reasonably needed to provide the Service, protect it, or support a clearly disclosed analytics purpose. Safeguards include structural database separation, restricted access, encrypted connections, secure authentication, backups, and incident-response procedures. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Account Deletion and Retention
When a user makes a valid account-deletion request, KeenGig LLC will delete or deidentify identifiable private account information within 180 days, except where limited retention is reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, or backup-cycle purposes. Pseudonymous raw analytics is governed by a separate limited-retention program. Properly aggregated information that no longer reasonably identifies a person may be retained.
Our Standard
KeenGig LLC evaluates every use of data by asking:
Does this provide a legitimate benefit to gig workers?
Is the information necessary for that purpose?
Have we protected the individual behind the data?
Have we clearly explained what we are doing?
Would we be comfortable defending this practice publicly?
If the answer to any question is no, the practice should be changed or rejected.
